In this workshop the process of writing and publishing a scientific paper is highlighted from choosing a paper through planning, writing, submitting and publishing. The participants will engage in exercises and interactive elements. The following topics are covered:
- Choosing a journal
- Ethics of Publication
- Planning and execution, structure, style of language, clear and concise writing, writing problems and how to avoid them
- Elements of a paper: purpose, content, tense, structure
- Submitting, procedures, cover letters, responses to rejections
- Conditional acceptance, dealing with referees
- Accepted-the final proofs: what to do and what not to do
- Copyright
- Publicizing the publication
